‘Basic’ socialism in five years, China status in next five: Gautam

Ruling Nepal Communist Party’s vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam has claimed that the government under his party’s leadership will achieve ‘basic’ socialism in the country in the next five years whereas the country’s status will be equal to China within the next decade.

Speaking at a function in Kathmandu on Sunday, Gautam said the country’s journey to prosperity would take 15 to 20 years.

Claiming that socialism would unstoppable in Nepal, he said it would take the country towards Communism.

“Nepal Communist Party should guarantee such socialism. We will move accordingly.”

In another context, Gautam said he had some note of dissents regarding the party’s official political agenda.

“I have different opinions about the party’s constitution and political report. I have a different report,” Gautam said, adding he would make his opinions public at right time.
