Police in Bara district on Monday morning arrested two persons suspecting their involvement in an explosion at the vehicle of Nepali Congress candidate for provincial assembly elections in the district, Om Krishna Karki.
Chief of the District Police Office, Raj Kumar Baidawar, says names of the suspects will be made public only after further investigation. He says the attackers will be brought to book.
Earlier, in the explosion, Karki’s vehicle (Ba 14 Cha 6330) had received considerable damages. The vehicle was parked near the District Forests Office in Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-1 when the incident occurred at around 5:30 am today.
Meanwhile, police have tightened security in major hubs of the district after the incident.
