Kathmandu, February 18
Bara’s Chief District Officer (CDO) Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai, who was airlifted to Kathmandu after meeting with an accident in Pachaha Khola on January 26, has been declared dead. He was being treated at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
Bhattarai’s jeep (Na 1 Jha 1663) hit a parked tractor at Pachaha Khola, on the Pathailiya-Nijghad road. He was with SP Balaram Pokharel who died on the spot. Both were returning from a picnic at Martyr Hiralal Park.
Bhattarai, who was first taken to a hospital in Birjung, was then airlifted to Kathmandu. At a press conference on Saturday, his family said they felt the accident was suspicious.
