The government has approved Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s upcoming visit to the United States to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved the visit of the delegation led by Prime Minister Shah.
According to Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel, who is also the government spokesperson, Shah-led delegation will leave for the United States on September 22 and return to Nepal on September 26.
Shah is scheduled to travel to New York later this month for the UN General Assembly, where Nepal is expected to raise issues including climate justice and the recent Bhote Koshi-Trishuli disaster.
This will be Shah’s first foreign trip since he assumed office as prime minister in March.
