Asus’s two most popular smartphone series include the ROG and the Zenfone series. The ROG series is known for its beastly gaming performance whereas the Zenfone for its compact phone factor. Asus launched the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate back in April and now has launched the Zenfone 10.

The small phone is loved by many for the performance it gives in the small form factor. Let us see what the compact phone delivers.

Design and Display

The Asus Zenfone 10 is a compact phone with a grippy textured polycarbonate back and a metal frame. On the back, there is a dual camera setup in two big rings and a slight camera bump. The design is almost identical to the Zenfone 9 with some text differences.

The ZenFone 10 and ZenFone 9 have slight differences in their dimensions and weight. The ZenFone 10 measures 9.4mm in thickness and weighs 172 grams, whereas the ZenFone 9 is slightly thinner at 9.1mm and lighter, weighing 169 grams.

On the front, it has a hole-punch camera situated at the top left corner. The bezels on the sides are thin, but the ones on the top and chin are a bit thick which is pretty rare in flagship phones.

It features a 5.9-inch 20:9 Samsung AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080. It offers a high refresh rate of 144Hz*, which can be enabled through Game Genie during mobile gaming. With a peak brightness of 1100 nits, the display ensures nice visibility even in bright outdoor environments.

The colour accuracy of Delta-E < 1 and wide colour gamut coverage of 112% DCI-P3, 107% NTSC, and 151.9% sRGB deliver accurate and vibrant colours. Additionally, it is compatible with Amazon HDR and YouTube HDR content. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has IP58 dust and water resistance.

Performance and Storage

The ASUS ZenFone 10 offers Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset built on a 4 nm architecture. Its octa-core CPU cores include: 1×3.2 GHz Cortex-X3, 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A715, 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A710, and 3×2.0 GHz Cortex-A510. With the Qualcomm Adreno 740 GPU, it handles graphics performance for gaming and multimedia along with the chipset. It runs on the latest Android 13 operating system.

Users have two RAM options, with choices of either 8GB or 16GB, and storage capacities including 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. The 8GB RAM option is available with either 128GB or 256GB storage, while the 16GB RAM option is available with 512GB storage.

Camera

The ASUS ZenFone 10 has a dual camera setup in the back. The main camera features a 50 MP Sony IMX766 flagship sensor with a 1/1.56″ sensor size and 1.0µm pixel size. The Quad Bayer technology combines four pixels into one for low-light photography. It is equipped with a 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 2.0, ensuring stable and smooth footage. The ultrawide camera offers a 13 MP sensor with a 120° field of view.

It has various camera modes, photo, video, portrait, pro (RAW file support), pro video, light trail, panorama, night, timelapse and slo-mo. For video recording, it supports 8K UHD video at 24 fps, 4K UHD at 30/60 fps, 1080p FHD at 30/60 fps, and 720p HD at 30/60 fps. It also allows for time-lapse and slow-motion video recording.

For selfies, the front camera features a 32 MP sensor that uses pixel binning to output an 8 MP image with a pixel size of 1.4µm. It supports 1080p video recording at 30/60fps.

Battery and Others

The ASUS ZenFone 10 is equipped with a 4300mAh battery. It supports 30W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and also 5W reverse wired charging. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 be/ax/ac/a/b/g/n for wireless internet access and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity with other devices.

It features dual stereo speakers and it comes with two microphones. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing you to connect wired headphones. It incorporates various sensors, including an accelerator, E-Compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking, and a gyro sensor.
