Kathmandu, December 8

One person was arrested with 14 kilograms of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport.

Chief of Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office DIG Arjun Chand told Onlinekhabar that seven gold bars weighing two kilograms each were recovered from Chandra Ghale of Gorkha, Barpak who came on a Fly Dubai flight.

Chand said that the police also arrested Min Ghale from Dumbharahi.

“Min has asked Chandra to get the gold from Dubai. We arrested him based on a tip,” said Chand.

According to the police, Chandra Ghale had landed in Kathmandu at 11.56 pm on Thursday on Fly Dubai. Based on a tip, Chandra was arrested as soon as he landed.

Further investigation is being done by the customs office. On December 6, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division conducted a raid on a gold shop in New Road, suspecting the sale of smuggled gold, and successfully seized nearly 8 kilograms of gold.
