File: Morang District Court

Biratnagar, June 3

A key suspect of 33.5 kg gold smuggling case that the racket of Chudamani Upreti aka Gore carried out has surrendered to the Morang District Court on Sunday.

Police say Chhhiring Wangdel Gurung came to the court today and surrendered. Immediately after his submission, the Court has begun recording his statements.

Earlier last week, SSP Shyam Khatri, another key suspect, had also surrendered to the court. The court had sent him to judicial custody.

The mastermind of the case, Gore, had divulged many names including Gurung and Khatri during his statements earlier. Categorically, he had told police that Gurung was the leader of gold smuggling racket in Nepal whereas he was just managing his porters.
