Kathmandu, January 24
The government has waived the airport service fee included in international flight tickets for flights operating from Pokhara and Bhairahawa international airports. This fee amounted to Rs 3,000 per passenger.
According to Binod Prakash Singh, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, the waiver will remain in effect until August 2026.
As a result, ticket prices for international flights from these airports will decrease by at least Rs 3,000. Currently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) charges Rs 3,000 per ticket as a passenger service fee.
This decision does not apply to flights from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where the service fee will remain unchanged. The government aims to attract airlines and passengers to the newly developed airports with this initiative.
