Aastha Subba, 32-year-old emerging diplomat, dead in Kathmandu motorbike hit

Kathmandu, November 4

Aastha Subba, a 32-year-old emerging diplomat in Nepal’s foreign service, died in a motorbike hit in Kathmandu on Thursday.

A motorbike (Province 3-02-008 Pa 3617) hit Subba, who was returning from her office yesterday evening, at Anamnagar, just outside the Singhadarbar complex, according to police. Subba was on foot.

Seriously injured, Subba was rushed to the Kathmandu Model Hospital in Bagbazaar, but she died during treatment at around 6:45 pm yesterday.

Subba was currently stationed at the UN, IOs and International Law Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a section officer.

Meanwhile, the rider of the motorbike, Milan Rai (24), a resident of Damauli in Tanahun, also fell off his vehicle after the incident, injuring himself.

He is undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
