Kathmandu, December 21
Machchhindra Club recorded their first ever victory in the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship by defeating Saraswoti Youth Club 4-2 in Friday’s match held at Satdobato-based ANFA Complex.
Saraswoti took an early lead through an own goal in the fourth minute, but three goals in 10 minutes from Machchhindra helped them turn the game around.
Machchhindra’s captain Bishal Rai, Vassadia Diamonde, Anil Gurung and Bikash Rai contributed a goal each for the win.
Rai was also voted the man of the match for his performance.
With this victory, Machchhindra climbed up to 11th position in the league with 6 points. A win for Machchhindra also means that New Road Team are the only team in the league without a victory.
Manang Marsyangdi Club with a 100% record top the league with 27 points while Sankata Club are three points behind on 24.
