A process has begun to issue copies of citizenship certificates to residents of Uttargaya Rural Municipality in Rasuwa who are staying at holding centres in Nuwakot following the Bhotekoshi flood on August 26.

Rasuwa Chief District Officer (CDO) Kamal Prasad Pandey said the process involves collecting applications and issuing copies of citizenship certificates to residents of Uttargaya Rural Municipality who were severely affected by the disaster.

According to Pandey, the initiative aims to prevent delays in relief distribution, rehabilitation and other essential administrative services for those who lost important documents, including citizenship certificates, in the disaster.

Applications have been received from 202 flood-affected residents of Uttargaya-1 who are currently staying at the Pipaltar Holding Centre in Nuwakot. The District Administration Office collected the applications during a visit to the holding centre.

Once the documents have been reviewed and verified, copies of the citizenship certificates will be delivered to the residents at their current place of stay.
