Kathmandu, October 11
Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel has won the Silver Award in the Leading Airport Hotel category at the 10th Annual South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026.
The award was presented at the SATA Grand Gala Award Ceremony held on October 8 at Barceló Nasandhura Malé in the Maldives. Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, presented the award to Ashish Pant, general manager of the hotel, who received it on behalf of the hotel and its team.
Established in 2016, SATA recognises achievements in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries across South Asia. Its evaluation process assigns 60 per cent of the final score to technical assessments by an expert jury and 40 per cent to verified online public voting. The assessment covers service standards, operational performance, facilities, guest experience, innovation and sustainability.
The hotel said the recognition reflects its team’s commitment to service quality and guest satisfaction. It also highlights Nepal’s hospitality sector and its role in the wider South Asian tourism industry.
Located in Kathmandu, Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel offers accommodation and facilities for business and leisure travellers. Tribhuvan International Airport is approximately 1.4 kilometres from the hotel, while Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa are around 1.2 kilometres and 1.3 kilometres away, respectively.
The hotel said the award would motivate its team to continue improving services and strengthening its contribution to Nepal’s tourism sector.
