Kathmandu, October 4
The National Sports Council (NSC) has nominated Gunjan Shah Thakuri as a member of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
The decision was taken at the level of the NSC member secretary.
According to Clause 3, Sub-clause 4 of Chapter 2 of the Cricket Association of Nepal Statute 2055, the NSC has the authority to nominate an ex-officio member to the cricket governing body.
Thakuri has been nominated to the vacant position under the same provision.
The position became vacant after the NSC recalled Chhumbi Lama from CAN membership following the formation of the new government.
Thakuri previously served as personal secretary to then Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav.
