Kathmandu, October 5
The second edition of the Kathmandu Horror Film Festival will be held in Kathmandu from October 30 to November 1. Twenty-six films have been selected to take part.
The 26 were chosen from horror, thriller, supernatural, dark fantasy and folklore-based films received through an international call. They include eight feature films and 18 short films. The selection includes films from 21 countries, five of which are Nepali productions or co-productions.
Russian House Kathmandu, the venue partner since the first edition, is again providing the festival venue this year.
The Kathmandu Horror Film Festival is a festival focused on horror and genre cinema, organised by the Nepal Academy of Film and Culture. Started in 2025, the festival encourages Nepali filmmakers to tell stories rooted in local folklore, myths and traditions. It also brings genre films from around the world to Nepali audiences.
