A section of the Hilsa–Simakot road, part of the Karnali Corridor, has been blocked after a rockfall in the Chhare stretch. Heavy rocks falling onto the road have disrupted movement along the corridor.
Resident Tara Bahadur Karki of Serkegad Rural Municipality-2 said transportation from Humla to Surkhet and Nepalgunj has come to a halt since the blockage.
He said residents are also facing difficulty reaching the district headquarters at Simakot even on foot.
Sunkar Khadka, DSP at the District Police Office, Humla, said efforts to reopen the road are now underway.
He said an excavator has been clearing the debris since the road was blocked two days ago.
