Kathmandu, September 13
AHZ Associates Nepal, in collaboration with Bangladesh-based Dr Mostofa Hazera Foundation (DMH Foundation), has distributed relief supplies to families affected by recent floods in Bidur, Nuwakot.
The relief initiative was organised to support families displaced by the floods, with essential food items and other basic necessities distributed directly to affected communities.
Financial support for the relief effort was provided by the DMH Foundation, while AHZ Associates Nepal’s employees and volunteers coordinated the distribution on the ground.
The AHZ team travelled from Kathmandu to Bidur and met with affected families to understand the challenges they were facing following the disaster.
“This was not simply about distributing food or basic necessities. It was about standing beside people who have suffered unimaginable losses, listening to them, and helping them feel that they are not alone,” said AHZ Associates Nepal Country Manager Shobin Thapa, who led the relief operation.
“Meeting the affected families in person reminded us once again of the importance of our collective responsibility,” he added.
DMH Foundation Chairman Captain A.K.M. Golam Kibria said the foundation’s support was guided by the principle that humanitarian assistance should not be limited by national borders.
“Humanity has no borders. When people are facing hardship and loss, our responsibility is not to ask where they come from, but to stand beside them,” Kibria said.
He said the foundation was pleased to support flood-affected families in Nepal and acknowledged the efforts of AHZ Associates Nepal in delivering the assistance directly to communities.
“We hope our contribution will provide families with some comfort, dignity and hope,” he said.
The relief operation was supported by AHZ Associates Nepal employees and volunteers, including Archana Yadav, Sajal Pokharel, Rishav Singh, Pragya Magar, Megha Bajracharya, Ambika Giri, Yogendra Saud and Dibesh Adhikari, alongside Thapa.
The initiative brought together a Nepal-based organisation and a Bangladeshi foundation to provide assistance to communities affected by the floods.
The DMH Foundation has continued to receive guidance from its founder and patron, Zahirul Islam, and Golam Mortuza, according to the organisations.
The organisations said the initiative was intended to provide both practical assistance and moral support to families as they begin recovering from the disaster.
