Kathmandu, September 2
The road connecting to the Kerung border point linking to Rasuwagadhi has fully resumed operation as of Wednesday morning, 10 AM, according to China.
Chinese media reports say this will allow rescue workers, relief supplies, equipment, and heavy machinery to reach the main disaster-affected areas by road, enabling more extensive rescue operations.
Road-clearing efforts have now reached the core disaster zone, where search and rescue work is underway through coordination across multiple methods.
According to CCTV footage, the final stretch of road that had been blocked by water has been temporarily reopened, allowing heavy machinery to pass through as well.
Heavy machinery clearing the national highway near the main disaster-affected area of the Kerung border has now reached close to the main building at the Chinese-side Kerung border facility.
