Celebrities and artists have started travelling to areas affected by the Bhotekoshi flood to personally distribute relief supplies. Miss Nepal Deepmala Dhakal, singer Durgesh Thapa, and actor Paul Shah are currently in flood-hit Nuwakot.
Dhakal has been distributing relief materials at various locations in Nuwakot in collaboration with the Hami Nepal organisation. She said she has been visiting different camps with supplies, adding that not just victims but rescue workers too urgently need raincoats and boots.
Singer Durgesh Thapa has travelled to Bidur and other areas of Nuwakot to distribute food and clothing to those affected, personally serving rice and feeding flood victims.
Actor Paul Shah said he distributed relief to 400 households in Pipaltar, Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, providing 200 households with quilts, mattresses, and blankets, and the remaining 200 with undergarments, shawls, noodles, biscuits, Jeevan Jal (oral rehydration solution), and sanitary pads.
Actress Priyanka Karki said she is preparing to distribute the clothing and donations she has received to areas that haven’t yet gotten relief supplies, sharing videos of the materials on social media.
Rapper VTEN has also travelled to Bidur, Nuwakot, to distribute relief. Singer Ekdev Limbu distributed a vanload of supplies, delivering vegetables to the affected area.
“There’s a special joy in returning after doing whatever small part I could,” Limbu wrote.
Singer Samikshya Adhikari said she provided relief materials for Rasuwa flood victims through the District Administration Office in Kaski.
Content creator Eva Giri has also begun distributing relief supplies in affected areas, posting videos on Instagram showing medicine, food, and clothing being provided.
Actress Reecha Sharma, who was on a visit to Gosaikunda, appealed for donations of clothing, noting it was urgently needed by stranded locals, especially women and children. Beyond these efforts, other artists have reportedly contributed money to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund according to their capacity.
