The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration have decided to collect details of damage to private and public land in areas affected by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa.
A meeting of the ministry’s high-level management group decided to assign the Department of Survey the task of conducting a field assessment and collecting detailed information on damage to private and public land.
The Department of Survey will visit the affected areas to document damage to land and structures and carry out disaster mapping of the flood-affected areas, according to the ministry’s secretariat.
The ministry said the mapping will help establish the actual extent of the damage and facilitate relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
The ministry said accurate mapping of the damage to residents and physical infrastructure caused by the Bhotekoshi flood will be important for preparing plans for future management and reconstruction.
