Kathmandu, August 27
The government will collect and update details of damage caused by the Rasuwa flood through the affected local governments.
A meeting of the high-level management group under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration decided to collect details of damage to offices and other local-level infrastructure through the respective local governments.
The decision states that the ministry will “collect and update details of damage to the offices of affected local levels through the respective local governments.”
Local governments will also mobilise funds from their disaster management funds and other available sources, in accordance with existing regulations, for rescue and relief operations.
The Department of Survey will collect details of damage to private and public land in the affected areas and carry out disaster mapping.
The unexpected flooding originating from the Nepal-China border area has affected Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and other districts along the Bhotekoshi and other river basins.
