Home Minister Sudan Gurung has initiated coordination with the private sector to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa.

Gurung held discussions with the leadership of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Nepal Bankers’ Association and Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal, urging them to work alongside the government during the disaster.

The government has called on the private sector to provide urgently needed food, medicines, clothing, temporary shelters and other relief materials to flood-affected communities.

Gurung said disaster management was not solely the responsibility of the government but a shared responsibility of the government, private sector and civil society.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure assistance reaches families affected by the Rasuwa floods as quickly as possible.
