
Kathmandu, August 26
Prime Minister Balen Shah has called an emergency meeting to discuss measures needed to rescue people affected by flooding in the Bhote Koshi River.
The meeting includes officials from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority as well as representatives of the security agencies.
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat said Shah has already instructed the chief district officers of the affected districts to take immediate steps to rescue those at risk and relocate residents of downstream areas to safer locations.
