Dongfeng Nammi’s new electric SUV, the Nammi Vigo E2, has been launched in the Nepali market.
MAW Motors, the authorised distributor of Dongfeng Nammi in Nepal, unveiled the electric SUV at an event held at The Plaza in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, on Thursday.
The Vigo E2 has been priced at Rs 3.599 million. The company said bookings at the introductory price will remain open until the NADA Auto Show, which begins on September 9.
MAW Motors Managing Director Bishnu Kumar Agrawal said the Nammi Vigo E2 has been positioned as a full-fledged SUV suitable for family use, rather than as a compact car.
According to Agrawal, the company decided to pass on the benefit of changes in the government’s duty structure directly to customers.
“We discussed whether to retain the difference from the duty changes as company profit or pass it on to customers. In line with our values, we chose to prioritise customers and introduce the vehicle at a special price,” he said.

Agrawal claimed the Nammi Vigo E2 has already demonstrated its capabilities in Nepal’s challenging terrain, having reached destinations including Manang, Mustang, Solukhumbu and Shuklaphanta.
He also cited the example of a customer who has driven the vehicle more than 80,000 kilometres in two years as evidence of its durability and reliability.
Agrawal said Nepal’s automobile market is undergoing a shift from hatchbacks towards SUVs, a trend he expects to continue in the EV segment.
“Just as customers shifted from hatchbacks to SUVs in petrol vehicles, we are seeing the same transition in the EV segment,” he said. “We are confident that the Nammi Vigo E2 will play a leading role in Nepal’s EV transformation.”
430-km claimed range

The Nammi Vigo E2 comes with a 95kW electric motor and a 52.3kWh battery. The company claims a range of up to 430 kilometres on a single charge.
It supports 3C fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 30% to 80% in around 18 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger, according to the company.
The vehicle has a ground clearance of 185–190mm, which the company says makes it suitable for both urban roads and rough, hilly terrain.
The Nammi Vigo E2 uses a “Rubik’s Cube” design concept, featuring geometric styling, triangular crystal-pattern tail lights, geometric rear-view mirrors, semi-hidden door handles and specially designed wheels.
Inside, the SUV gets a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Other features include comfortable seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging and multimedia functions. The ambient lighting can also be synchronised with music.
The front seats come with electric adjustment and ventilation functions, aimed at improving comfort during longer journeys.
Safety features include ABS, EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors and a rear camera, according to the company.
MAW Motors said Dongfeng Nammi has already become the second-largest Chinese EV importer brand in Nepal, with more than 2,000 customers nationwide.
The company said demand for the Nammi Vigo remains strong, with bookings already extending beyond 45 days, while supply has been affected by high global demand and battery shortages.
