The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has made it mandatory for its lawmakers to submit an application explaining their absence or need to leave a parliamentary meeting.
The party said the measure was introduced to make parliamentary proceedings more systematic and effective.
Under the new arrangement, RSP lawmakers must submit a ‘Parliament Meeting Absence Application Form’ if they are unable to attend a meeting, arrive more than 30 minutes late, need to leave the meeting midway, or need to step out temporarily and return during the proceedings.
The party has also introduced an online application system for the purpose.
RSP Chief Whip Kabindra Burlakoti said the arrangement was communicated to all party lawmakers through a directive.
