President Ram Chandra Paudel has conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army on Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth.
President Paudel presented the honorary rank insignia to Seth at a special ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas on Monday.
The visit continues the tradition, which began in 1950, of the army chiefs of Nepal and India being conferred the honorary rank of General of each other’s armies.
Seth is in Kathmandu on a three-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
