The Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait has confirmed the tragic death of an innocent Nepali national in a drone attack in northern Kuwait. The deceased is Som Kumar Tamang, 44, of Tehrathum district.
Likewise, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned this indiscriminate attack against civilians and has called upon all parties concerned to engage in dialogue and diplomacy, exercise the utmost restraint and to ensure the safety, security and protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure in accordance with their obligations under international law.
The Ministry has underscored the imperative of full respect for and strict adherence to the Geneva Conventions and applicable rules of international humanitarian law under all circumstances. In a press release, the Ministry extended deep condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased and expressed commitment to providing all necessary assistance, including facilitating the earliest possible repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased.
