Three people have died in an SUV accident in Dailekh district. The victims were declared dead by doctors after sustaining critical injuries in the crash.
The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Kal Bahadur Rokaya, the driver of the jeep, 39-year-old Mitra Sunar, both residents of Shubhakalika-5 in Kalikot, and 60-year-old Pultisara BK of Shubhakalika-6.
The accident occurred at Kalgaudi in Bhairabi Rural Municipality-7 when the SUV bearing registration number Su Pra 01001 Cha 4964 was travelling from Surkhet to Shubhakalika Rural Municipality.
The victims, who were critically injured in the accident on Monday afternoon, were rushed to the District Hospital in Dailekh for treatment. However, they were pronounced dead upon arrival, according to DSP Shrawan Kumar BK, chief of the District Police Office, Dailekh.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the District Hospital, Dailekh.
Two seriously injured passengers have been referred to Karnali Province Hospital for further treatment. They have been identified as 45-year-old Nain Sunar of Shubhakalika-4 and 27-year-old Sumat BK of Shubhakalika-6.
The remaining three injured individuals are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Dailekh.
A five-member police team led by DSP Shrawan Kumar BK has reached the accident site to conduct further investigation into the incident.
