Kathmandu, May 25
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is set to visit India starting June 1, party officials have confirmed.
A party office-bearer said the visit has been finalised, while a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the trip will begin on June 1 and conclude on June 3. Preparations for the necessary diplomatic and logistical arrangements are currently underway, according to RSP leaders.
This will be the first foreign visit by the party chief after the RSP secured nearly a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives following the elections.
Earlier, India had extended an invitation to Prime Minister Balen Shah. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also called Shah to congratulate him and invited him to visit India. However, Shah’s visit has not yet been scheduled. Lamichhane’s confirmed visit ahead of the prime minister’s has drawn significant public attention.
