Federal Cabinet order of precedence reshuffled

The order of precedence within the Federal Cabinet has been reshuffled.

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, who was previously ranked third, has moved to the fifth position. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle remains in the second position, following Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

According to the new hierarchy, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is now ranked third. Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha holds the fourth position, followed by Home Minister Gurung in fifth.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Sunil Lamsal is ranked sixth. Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam holds the seventh position.

The ranking continues with Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Sita Badi in eighth place, followed by Pratibha Rawal, who oversees Federal Affairs and General Administration along with Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, in ninth.

Nisha Mehta, the Minister for Health and Population and Water Supply, holds the tenth spot, while Sasmit Pokharel, Minister for Education, Science and Technology and Youth and Sports, is ranked eleventh. Rounding out the list are Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Paudel in twelfth, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dr Bikram Timilsina in thirteenth, and Geeta Chaudhary, who handles Agriculture and Livestock Development as well as Forests and Environment, in fourteenth.

Finally, Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security Dipak Kumar Shah sits at the bottom of the order of precedence in the fifteenth position.
