Former Energy Minister and Nepali Congress leader Dipak Khadka, who was arrested, has been admitted to the hospital.
Police arrested Khadka on Sunday. On the same day, the court granted permission to keep him in custody for seven days for investigation.
However, Khadka was admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital today. According to hospital sources, he was brought in at around 3 am and is currently admitted to bed number 1029.
Home Minister Sudhan Gurung had stated that Khadka, a former Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, was taken into custody to investigate money recovered from his residence linked to the September 9 Gen Z protest.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation is probing the burnt cash found at Khadka’s house. Earlier, the department had collected charred fragments of currency notes and ash from the site.
Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who was arrested on Saturday on charges of suppressing the Gen Z protest, has also been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. He was admitted the same day and remains under medical supervision.
