The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order in favour of Resham Chaudhary, meaning he will not be eligible to run as a candidate.
Resham Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Nepal, will not be able to contest from Kailali Constituency No. 1. Following a hearing on Sunday on a writ petition he had filed, the Supreme Court declined to grant an interim order in his favour.
Chaudhary had approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Election Officer of Kailali–1. The court upheld the election officer’s decision.
The election officer of Kailali–1 had earlier decided to reject his candidacy.
