Three Ministers appointed in Bagmati Province

Kathmandu, july 30

Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has appointed three new ministers to his cabinet.

Govinda Lamsal, Maya Shrestha, and Geeta Gurung have been appointed as provincial ministers. Among them, Lamsal has been assigned the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law. The portfolios for Maya Shrestha and Geeta Gurung are yet to be determined.

Five ministries previously held by the Nepali Congress in Bagmati Province were left vacant. With Lamsal now leading the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, the ministries of Youth and Sports, Culture and Tourism, Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation, and Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation remain without leadership.

On July 25, four ministers, and on July 29, one more minister resigned and signed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Lama.
