Kathmandu, June 25
All paragliding companies operating across Nepal will now be required to register their paragliders with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
According to CAAN, starting fiscal year 2082/83 BS (mid-July 2025 onwards), it will be mandatory for all solo and tandem paragliders under company ownership to be officially registered. A three-month window will be provided at the beginning of the fiscal year for completing the registration process.
Failure to register within the specified timeframe will result in the paragliders being declared illegal. The authority has warned that legal action will be taken against violators as per existing regulations.
CAAN further clarified that all companies that have received operation permits from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation—along with Recreational Aviation Operation Certificates (RAOC) and training institute licenses—must register all paragliders in their possession.
