Nepal Covid-19 tally: 213 new cases, 325 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 916,192 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 213 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,907 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 197 returned positive. Likewise, 1,725 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 16 tested positive.

Of total tests, 4.01 per cent of the PCR and 0.92 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.21 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,156 active cases across the country. Of them, 395 are hospitalised, 178 in intensive care units and 30 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 325 people have achieved recovery whereas three deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 802,047 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,521 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 115,434 people were vaccinated today.
