Kathmandu, November 17
In an unusual incident, a local government in the Mahottari district of southeastern Nepal has announced a public holiday in its jurisdiction on Wednesday just to welcome the CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The former prime minister is visiting Mahottari this afternoon to inaugurate a few health posts in the Ramgopalpur municipality. Therefore, the municipal government on Tuesday announced there would a public holiday on Wednesday so as to make the programme a success.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ashok Mandal and Chief Administrative Officer Birendra Lal Karna have urged all citizens in the town to attend the event.
