Kathmandu, March 23
Police in Makawanpur district, south of Kathmandu, have arrested four persons including three police personnel for their alleged involvement in an attempted burglary in the district.
The arrestees include assistant sub-inspector Surendra Basel and constables Bir Bahadur Basnet and Hema Kanta Pun Magar. They were deployed at the Metropolitan Police Circle in Durbarmarga of Kathmandu. The fourth arrestee is Sujan Acharya, who identified himself as a journalist.
Police in Makawanpur say the four had gone to a village in the district with a plan to burgle a house and steal diamond ornaments.
