Kathmandu, June 17
Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, attended a live video conference with Nepal’s first satellite NepaliSat-1 circling the earth’s orbit, in Japan.
The conference was organised by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) on Monday. The Minister was accompanied by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) vice chancellor Dr Sunil Babu Shrestha.
The two left for Japan last Saturday to take updates about the NepaliSat-1, the nano satellite that was launched into space by Japan’s Kyushu Institute of Technology on April 17 from the Virginia Space’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in the United States.
NepaliSat-1 which was at the International Space Station for the past month has started orbiting the earth from Monday.
