Pokhara Paltan have won the inaugural match of the Pokhara Premier League being played in the Lake City,
The home side defeated Biratnagar Titans by 58 runs, thanks to a blitzkrieg by Pokhara’s Binod Bhandari, who scored 41 runs in 11 balls.
Having won the toss, Biratnagar elected to bowl first. Biratnagar’s bowlers failed to contain a batting lineup filled with national stars and conceded 197 runs in 20 overs. Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets, Shahab Alam took one for Biratnagar.
Kushal Bhurtel 38(26), Aasif Sheikh 52(54), Ravi Inder Singh 44(27), and Sarad Vesawakar 7(4) helped the team inch close to 200.
When Biratnagar batted, Raju Rijal 30(27) and Puspa Thapa 30(26) showed some resistance, but the target was simply too big for Biratnagar.
Mahaboob Alam, Krishna Karki, Sarad Vesawakar, Bikram Bhusal, and Rashid Khan claimed a wicket each for Pokhara while spinner Lalit Rajbanshi claimed three.
