Kathmandu, February 4
Provincial assemblies of provinces 2, 5, 6 and 7 are holding their first meetings today. The meetings will take place in their temporary capitals, namely Janakpur, Butwal, Surkhet and Dhangadhi respectively.
Province 3’s Assembly has already held its meeting last week whereas the first meetings are scheduled for tomorrow in provinces 1 and 4.
Most of the lawmakers have already reached respective capital cities for the meeting. Concerned parliament secretariats have already prepared agendas for the first meeting.
All the assemblies are expected to decide the dates for elections for speakers today. Till the elections, the senior-most members of the assemblies will chair the meetings.
