Kathmandu, January 9
Activist Dr Govinda KC, who has been charged with criminal contempt of court, was presented before the SC on Tuesday morning.
KC, who went on hunger strike on Monday demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli, was arrested late on Monday night following a court order. He was presented in court at 9 am, court sources told Onlinekhabar.
A bench of Justice Damber Bahadur Sahi had issued the order on Monday evening demanding that KC be brought before the court at 9 am on Tuesday.
The bench was responding to a report filed by the Supreme Court’s officer Netra Bandhu Paudyal accusing Dr KC of contempt. Details of Dr KC’s statement before the court have not been made public yet.
