Pradip Paudel demands repolling after being declared loser by five votes

L-R: Pradip Paudel and Aasha Koirala

Kathmandu, December 10

Nepali Congress youth leader Pradip Paudel has demanded that a repolling be held in the provincial constituency of Tanahun-2 ‘A’ after he was declared a loser in the first-past-the-post race by a narrow margin of just five votes.

As per the results announced today, Paudel garnered 16,641 which was just five less than the declared winner, Aasha Koirala of CPN-Maoist Centre, got.

But, Paudel says he does not accept the results claiming the elections were rigged. He has already filed an application to the concerned election official demanding repolling.

Meanwhile, some Congress cadres held a demonstration in support of Paudel in Damauli of the district this afternoon.
