The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum on Sunday announced names of nominees for four categories of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award, 2017.
The event is going to be held in Kathmandu on September 11.
The organisation said national football team’s first-choice goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong, cricketer Sharad Vesawkar, shuttler Ratna Jit Tamang, athlete Som Bahadur Kumal and spiker Man Bahadur Shrestha have been nominated in the Best Male Player category.
Likewise, athletes Kanchhi Maya Koju and Saraswati Bhattarai, archer Gyanu Awale, shuttler Nangsal Tamang and footballer Sabitra Bhandari have made it to the nominations in the Best Female Player category.
Cricketer Dipendra Singh Airee, footballer Ananta Tamang, judoka Manita Shrestha Pradhan, lifter Kamala Shrestha and spiker Pratibha Mali have been nominated in the Young Player category.
Nominations for the Best Coach include Koji Gyotoku of football, Pushpa Raj Ojha of athletics, Meghraj KC of football, Jagat Tamata of cricket and Kiran Thapa of badminton.
Nominations of People’s Choice Award have already begun and voting has already been opened whereas winners of three awards–Lifetime Achievement Award, Para Athlete and Special Award–will be announced during the event.
