The Biratnagar Airport is likely to resume its services by coming Saturday. The airport was completely shut after floodwater inundated its runway last Saturday.
Nepal Army personnel have been mobilised to clear the runway as it was completely covered by mud and sand due to inundation caused by incessant rainfall.
About 200 NA personnel have been mobilised to clear the airport runway with the help of various equipment and are expected to bring the airport back into operation within next two days.
According to, Suresh Man Shrestha, Chief at the Civil Aviation Authority in Biratnagar, they will resume the air services by Saturday if the weather condition remains favourable.
