Kathmandu, May 16
The CPN-UML has won the chief of Mahankal Rural Municipality in Lalitpur district.
This is the first of the final results of Sunday elections announced in any unit of Kathmandu Valley.
According to the results, UML’s Ram Chanda Dahal defeated Bhimsen Ghimire of Nepali Congress.
Dahal polled 2,080 votes against Ghimire’s 1,722.
Likewise, UML’s Kamala Tamang won the position of Vice-Chairperson by defeating Sushila Adhikari of Nepali Congress.
