Kathmandu, May 1
Parliament will discuss the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Sushila Karki at 1 pm today.
Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar fixed the date and time for the discussion during a Parliament meeting held this morning.
Despite protests from lawmakers of the opposition parties including the CPN-UML, the Speaker fixed the date to begin discussions on the motion filed by lawmakers of ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre on Sunday.
Claiming that the motion was brought with maleficent intents, the opposition parties have been demanding that it be withdrawn.
Otherwise, they have been saying the motion should be put to vote at the earliest.
