Kathmandu, May 1
The Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal on Monday said the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Sushila Karki was meant to control the independent judiciary and interfere into the jurisdiction of Supreme Court.
The party’s Chairman Upendra Yadav in a statement issued today said the motion filed by lawmakers of ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre was a premeditated attack on constitutional supremacy and rule of law.
Citing the lawmakers’ move was against values of a democratic republic, Yadav demanded that the motion be withdrawn.
He also said the ruling parties wanted to fulfill their individual, factional and party-wise interests by abusing the state powers while trying to influence the independent judiciary.
