Kathmandu, June 16

Out of 4, 37, 326 examinees, who sat for SLC examinations conducted about two-and-a-half months ago, 4, 25, 582 have cleared the exams, meaning they will be eligible for enrollment at different streams on offer at the Plus-Two level, depending, of course, on their GPA. A GPA of 1.6 or above makes SLC graduates eligible for different academic programmes on offer at the higher secondary level, depending on their scores.

But 8,000 students, who have secured GPA of 0.6-1.2, will not be eligible for Plus-Two programmes unless they improve their GPA by sitting for chance exams. They can, however, go for technical SLC if they do not want to sit again for the tests and improve their GPA.

The Exam Controller’s Office said it is conducting re-tests from July 29 to August 5.

The office has cancelled SLC exams of 16 examinees as they were underage. According to the office, 1,733 examinees did not attend written tests, 1,800 did not attend practicals and 188 students had their copies cancelled, among others. And there were 6,878 droupouts.
