The recent floods have left 2,000 families in distress as 500 houses were inundated in Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality and Hanumannagar Kangkalini Municipality in the district due to relentless rainfall.
In Hanumannagar Kangkalini Municipality, 483 households were affected in wards no. 5, 7, 12, and 13. Ward no 4 and 5 of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality also saw flooding. Mayor of Hanumannagar Kangkalini Municipality, Birendra Majhi, informed RSS that the water level in the Saptakoshi River surged on Friday night.
He mentioned, “We will ensure that those impacted receive food each day for now, and we’ll distribute more relief supplies once the water levels begin receding.”
