5 Indians arrested for stealing nearly Rs10 million

Kathmandu, February 15

The police have arrested five Indian nationals on the charge of breaking into houses and stealing there in the name of picking up garbage.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, this group was found to have stolen nearly Rs 10 million from three separate houses in Kathmandu.

Those arrested are Vikas Poddar alias Lakka, Jitendra Poddar, Bhailal Poddar, Sanjay Poddar and Manju Devi Poddar. According to the police, they stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 6.5 million from the house of Dil Maya Ale Magar in Gokarneshwar Municipality-4 Makalbari on February 11.

Similarly, SP Ravindra Regmi informed that Rs 2.5 million was stolen from the house of Dinesh Ghimire in Baneshwar and Rs 410,000 from Gita Rai’s home in Gokarneshwar Municipality-3.
