Dhangadhi claim DPL 2 title, beat Kathmandu by 21 runs

Kathmandu, April 13

Dhandgadhi Team Chauraha have won the second edition of the Dhangadhi Premier League. Dhangadhi defeated Kathmandu Goldens by 21 runs in a hi-scoring final.

Having won the toss, Dhangadhi posted a total of 181 with the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sunil Dhamala (78) and UAE skipper Rohan Mustafa (60) guided Dhangadhi to the big score. Kathmandu Goldens conceded 31 runs in extras.

Kathmandu Goldens made 160 with the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Amit Shrestha (580 and Gyanendra Malla (30) put up some resistance against Dhangadhi but could not guide the team to victory. Dhangadhi’s Lalit Bhandari claimed three wickets and Rohan Mustafa bagged two crucial wickets to seal the victory for his side.

The winning team bags a purse of Rs 2.5 million, and the runner-up Rs 1 million.
